The electric car burst into flames 30 minutes after being parked in the city’s San Po Kong district on Sunday, the newspaper said, with three explosions seen on CCTV footage. The car was not charging. Firemen took 45 minutes to douse the fire.

The owner of the car said that he complained to Tesla several times before the incident that he had a problem with his car battery. In the morning before the incident, he used the Tesla Supercharger to charge the car to 97%. However, whether the blast is related to the fast charging is still unknown.
